Our class list has been updated (August 11th 2008) for classes in August, September and October. We have a lot of classes on offer this term which are listed below. Samples for most of these classes are in the shop NOW! All classes require you to have a pattern for the class - this is not included in the price of the class unless otherwise indicated. Kits are available for all classes. These are made to order based on your initial fabric selections.
Experience required: 1 assumes no experience required (including beginners), 2 assumes more advanced skills required. If there is no number then some cutting experience may be required, ask in the shop for more details. Class may require some work to be done during the class, homework in between classes and time to complete the project after the end of the class. During the class it is our aim to teach you the techniques you need to complete a project. It is unlikely that you would complete a project in the class. Most quilt classes are for the construction of the quilt top only. Having completed a quilt top there are three options for quilting: - hand quilting (classes are taught on this in the cooler months) - machine quilting (classes run each term) - sending your quilt away to get it professionally quilted (I have brochures for excellent business that provide these services) There are some classes (Field of flowers, quilt as you go, whole cloth quilt) where you also learn quilting techniques as part of the class. Class policies including booking, payment and refunds All classes will be held in the shop and unless otherwise stated you will need to bring in a sewing machine, equipment and materials. A list of all requirements for the class will be available for you to collect upon your final payment. It is your responsibility to bring everything that is required to the class. Where a kit is not included in the class price I will be more than happy to help you with a kit or with choosing and cutting fabric.
Deposits, payments and refunds Places in classes will usually be limited to six people so that we can provide personal attention to everyone in the class. As a result I expect that they will fill quickly however if we have insufficient numbers the class may be cancelled and any amounts paid will be fully refunded. I recommend that you do not purchase any fabrics or equipment until you are sure that the class will proceed. Please call to confirm if the class is running.
Class bookings Class bookings can be made by phone/fax/email or in person at the shop. All bookings are subject to our class policies. How can I pay? You can pay by cash or credit card. I can take credit card details over the phone or you can fill in the form below and post them to me. Alternatively you can pay either a deposit of $30 or buy a gift voucher. What do the projects look like? Some of the projects are displayed on this website – others will be in the window of the shop, or I can email a photo to you. Can I get a refund? Yes if the class is cancelled due to reasons beyond our control, or if class numbers are insufficient. No if you just change your mind or have a last minute clash eg with a wedding, weekend away etc. This is only because I have to pay the teachers and I rely on your payments to help me do this.
